Beginning in 2006, nine professionals with extensive real estate backgrounds formed The Strata Group, a full-service real estate collaboration providing real estate, legal and financial services throughout Maryland. The purpose: to provide a comprehensive and seamless collaboration of real estate services.
The Strata Group currently is comprised of six distinct collaborative companies: Yerman Witman Gaines & Conklin Realty (YWGC); Real Estate Mortgage Funding
(REMF); Real Estate Title & Escrow (RETE);
Strata Law; Strata Financial Services; and Strata New
Home Sales, with offices in Baltimore County, Baltimore
City and Harford County. Each company exists as a separate entity, yet is joined under one roof to streamline the customer’s experience, making the home buying and selling process convenient, efficient and cost-effective. |

William Yerman, CEO
As Chief Executive Officer, Billy oversees the operations of The Strata Group. He is responsible for achieving the strategic plans and policies as established by the nine Strata Group partners. Billy has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and title industry. He is a past president of the Maryland Land Title Association and of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors. Billy is currently on the Board of Trustees of Garrison Forest School and is the Chairman of the Board of Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.
Billy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Emory University and graduated from The University of Maryland School of Law. |

Joseph Cservek, COO
As Chief Operating Officer for the organization, Joe manages the daily operations of all entities of The Strata Group including marketing, financial analysis, business processes and business development.
Prior to joining The Strata Group, Joe worked for The Fountainhead Title Group and RGS Title, LLC, for nearly 24 years; serving as CEO/President of its Northern Division for the last two years. In addition to his extensive real estate background, Joe was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 1980 and holds a Maryland Real Estate Brokerage license. |

Michael Yerman, Partner, YWGC Realty
Real estate has been a major part of Michael Yerman’s life for thirty years. Starting in 1976, Michael was president of a real estate development firm that oversaw such Baltimore condominium projects as the The St. James, Ruxton Crossing, Stevenson Crossing, The Villages of Homeland and Bedford Commons. Prior to being an Associate Broker at Long and Foster Realtors, Michael was Chief Executive Officer of Meredith Real Estate/Better Homes and Gardens.
His commitment to his profession extends to outside activities. Michael served as President of the Maryland Association of Realtors, the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors, and the Baltimore Corporation for Housing Partnership. He is currently a trustee of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors Foundation, a charitable arm of the board that works to enhance neighborhoods and encourage home ownership.
Michael was honored with a Lifetime Achievement
Award by the Maryland Association of Realtors in
2005.

Marc Witman, Partner, YWGC Realty
Marc served as President of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors in 1999, and has been active on many of its committees. In 1998, he was the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors “Realtor of the Year”, and currently serves on the Maryland Association Board of Directors. A believer in reinvesting in the community, Marc was the founding president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors Foundation, and was a 2000 director of the Greater Baltimore Alliance, the region’s economic development organization.
Marc is a member of the National Association of Realtors, and the Home Builders Association of Maryland, and is a life member of the Real Estate Million Dollar Association, a graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI), and a Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP). |

Brandon Gaines, Partner, YWGC Realty
As one of Baltimore’s leading real estate professionals since 1977, Brandon is always looking to increase the level of service he provides to his clients. With a strong work ethic, Brandon succeeds in making the process of buying or selling a home a positive and successful experience for all involved.
Brandon's commitment to the Greater Baltimore community includes serving on a wide variety of nonprofit boards. He currently serves on the Boys Latin School Alumni Board, is a member of the Baltimore Rotary Club, and coaches in the Kelly Post Lacrosse Program. Brandon has been very active in the real estate industry over the years serving as President of the Baltimore Board of Realtors in 1991 and received their "Realtor of the Year" honor in 1993. Brandon is an Associate Broker and has his CRS, GRI and ABR professional designations. |

Cindy Conklin, Principal, YWGC Realty
Cindy began a career in real estate at O’Conor, Piper & Flynn in 1985, remaining at the same Federal Hill office through the change in company ownership to Coldwell Banker. As a principal in YWGC Realty, Cindy remains the same successful and driven agent, loyal to her clients and an active member of the community.
Cindy is dedicated to community activities, and serves as a volunteer with Christ Lutheran Place (a women and children’s shelter), Port Discovery Children’s Museum, and is a member of The Alumnae Council for Dickinson College. Cindy graduated from Roland Park Country School and received her B.A. in Economics from Dickinson College. |

Bob Merbler, Partner, YWGC Realty
Bob Merbler has more than 30 years of commercial and residential real estate experience. He worked for The Prudential Insurance Company in Baltimore, Washington, DC and Philadelphia for twelve years in mortgage lending, property management, acquisitions and the development of office, hotel and industrial properties. Subsequently, he became a partner in a Howard County real estate development firm specializing in commercial and retail development. Since 1995, Bob has been heavily involved in residential brokerage including working with developers from feasibility to settlement.
Bob has lived in Federal Hill since the early 1970’s and was involved with the early renovations in the neighborhood. He is committed to urban living and has a strong understanding of real estate marketing and development. Bob obtained his Master’s Degree in Real Estate from American University. |

Peter Burstein, Partner, RETE
Peter is a partner and the CEO of Real Estate Title and Escrow. He is responsible for the growth and day-to-day operations of the firm. Mr. Burstein is also a founding member of Real Estate Title and Escrow’s related law firm, Strata Law, LLC.
Mr. Burstein is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc. (CHAI), an agency of the Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. He is a past Chairman of CHAI’s Homeownership and Loan Committee and currently chairs its Community Development Committee. Mr. Burstein holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University and graduated with honor from The University of Maryland School of Law. Mr. Burstein is a member of the Maryland and Virginia Bars. |

Scott Lederer, Regional Manager of YWGC Realty and President of New Home Sales
As President of Strata New Home Sales, LLC, Scott develops and implements systems and strategies to manage the company’s existing builder and developer contacts and expand the company’s sales and marketing in the mid-Atlantic region.
Scott continues to serve as Owner and Broker of Record of Lederer & Company for clients throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. In addition, he serves on the board of directors for the Metropolitan Regional Informational Systems, Inc. (MRIS), the Maryland Association of Realtors (MAR) and the Carroll County Association of Realtors. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Carroll County Association of Realtor’s Foundation and sits on MAR’s Executive Committee and Public Policy Committee.

Linda Fredeking, Vice President of Business Development and Relocation, YWGC Realty
In her role as Vice President of Business Development, Fredeking serves as the main liaison with sales office managers, agents and clients throughout the mid-Atlantic region. She is also responsible for developing new business and sources of revenue for The Strata Group through marketing, sales, information management and customer service. In addition, Fredeking also serves as the Vice President of Relocation for Yerman Witman Gaines and Conklin (YWGC) Realty. Fredeking oversees the daily operations of the Relocation Division including: Destination Services; Departure Services; Temporary Living; and Moving Household Goods.
Fredeking joins The Strata Group with a vast amount of experience in the industry including more than 17 years of relocation experience and 25 years of real estate experience. She is a Certified Relocation Professional. Prior to joining The Strata Group, she served as the Vice President and Director of Coldwell Banker’s residential relocation division for more than eight years and Sales Manager for BridgeStreet Accomodations for ten years. Fredeking is a member of the Employee Relocation Council and The Greater Washington Employee Relocation Council and the Relocation Director’s Council. She is also a member of the Greater Baltimore Association of Realtor’s, National Association of Realtor’s, Anne Arundel Society for Human Resources, Chesapeake Human Resources Association and Howard County Human Resources Association.

With more than a decade of Real Estate and management experience, Tom continues his successful career in real estate as the Office Manager of the YWGC Realty Bel Air office.
As an experienced and motivated Realtor, Tom provides a superior level of professional attention and service to all of his clients. Tom was raised in Maryland and is an alumni of Towson University. He has sold throughout the state with emphasis on Baltimore City, County and Harford County, where he now lives with his wife and 3 children.

Cindy Penn, Marketing
Manager, The Strata Group
As Marketing Manager for The Strata Group, Cindy
is responsible for creating and implementing
strategic marketing programs for all the various
divisions of the company. She began her career in
real estate as Marketing Director for Magill Yerman/Better
Homes and Gardens, later known as Meredith Real
Estate/Better Homes & Gardens. She most recently
held the position as Vice President of Marketing for
one of Maryland’s largest credit unions.
Cindy holds her real estate license and is a member
of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors and the
National Association of Realtors.
